Our founder and respected spiritual teacher, Kyabje Lama Thubten  Zopa Rinpoche had the wish for a  center in Thamel to benefit the different types of people that come to  Nepal for pilgrimage, tourism and  trekking by providing an oasis for rest and healing as an alternative to the wild side of life in Thamel.  The Center’s aim is also to  preserve the ancient teachings of the Buddha and make them accessible to pilgrims, as well as enrich and facillitate the cultural and spiritual tradtion of the local Tibetan and Nepali community who share a common heritage in the teachings of the Buddha. After all, the Buddha was born in Lumbini in present day Nepal.
