The Himalayan Buddhist Meditation Center (HBMC) for Tibetan Buddhist studies was founded in 1992 as an urban center for meditation, study, and spiritual practice. HBMC operates under the spiritual guidance of Kyabje Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche and is a member of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition. HBMC is the urban satellite center for Kopan Monastery just one hour away, situated on the hill above Boudhanath Stupa. Set in a 150 year old Rana palace, this modern day meditation center with guest house facility provides you with great comfort, hospitality and access to wisdom. We strive to serve your needs according to Buddhist ethics and principles outlined by our most kind and compassionate teachers who follow in the lineage of Shakyamuni Buddha.
